Andrew Lloyd Webber brings new album to life at Theater Royal Drury Lane – Music News
This recording is the first live performance to take place at the newly refurbished Theater Royal Drury Lane following the £ 60million total restoration of Lloyd Webber’s LW Theaters.
The album Symphonic Suites, due out in June 2021, is a recording of three newly orchestrated suites by Evita, Phantom of the Opera and Sunset Boulevard, specially selected from Lloyd Webber’s award-winning musical repertoire.

“It is wonderful and very moving for me to see brilliant musicians come back to their place.”
The orchestra that performs these suites, led by Simon Lee, brings together some of the most talented musicians in the world, united after a year of separation. For some, this is a first chance to return to live recording after the devastating impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Registration was carried out in accordance with all current government Covid-19 protocols.

LW Theaters’ £ 60million restoration of the Theater Royal Drury Lane, affectionately known as’ The Lane ‘, is nearing completion. With one of London’s largest auditoriums at its heart, ‘The Lane’ has been redesigned to provide all-day hospitality and entertainment, as well as unmatched world-class theater formats. “The Lane” will be a space for everyone, not just for those heading to a show. From this new recording, and after one of the most difficult times in theater history, ‘The Lane’ will revitalize central London after lockdown – and for decades to come.
This year, Phantom of the Opera is celebrating 35 years in the West End, while the filmed production of Sunset Boulevard, which opened in London in 1993 at Leicester Curve, will be reissued to audiences from May 10-15. Evita has been running the West End for 43 years.
The timely release of the Symphonic Suites album will pay homage to the three historic musicals and celebrate the long-awaited return of theaters in London and around the world.
