Hall for Cornwall’s creative director teased a ‘major new play’ and West End musicals ahead of its grand reopening.
Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical will be the first major show since the theater underwent a multi-million pound makeover after it closed in 2018.
The venue now has three hundred new seats in the redesigned three-level Cornwall Playhouse auditorium, which now has a capacity of 1,352, meaning it can attract larger shows.
Tickets are on sale now with priority ticket sales for members who have already broken box office sales.
The show runs from Wednesday October 13 to Saturday October 30.
Julien Boast, CEO and Creative Director of Hall for Cornwall, said:
“We’ve had a fantastic response so far and it shows the affection people have for the Fisherman’s Friends story and how people have missed the live theater.
“Later this month, we’ll be unveiling more highlights from our launch fall season with an exciting program of shows, including live music, comedy, contemporary dance and a new piece by West End major theater and musicals. We can’t wait to raise the curtain on our fantastic new auditorium, Cornwall Playhouse.
Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical traces the rise of the famous Port Isaac slum group and their important record deal signed in 2010.
