It’s no understatement to say that the pandemic has impacted everyone in the theater industry.Richard Beale, Certified Security Specialist
Richard Beale, a licensed security specialist for the company, described how Abbott’s Panbio Covid-19 rapid antigen test is used in theaters to check on cast and crew when they arrive, before they arrive. ‘wait 15 minutes for their results in a socially remote area.
Most of the sites the company operates in test staff about three times a week, he said.
In addition to rapid antigen testing, RB Health and Safety Solutions provides antibody testing, Covid-19 risk assessment, and virus testing in offices, colleges and universities.
Mr Beale said: “It is no understatement to say that the pandemic has affected everyone in the theater industry. But luckily, shows are now reopening, and so many producers are taking extra steps to minimize risk to theater staff and performers, without compromising the theatrical experience.
“Each site and production company has its own challenges and needs, but we work with most to test staff and crew under the supervision of a healthcare professional using the Panbio Covid-19 rapid antigen test. Abbott on site on their site.
“After being tested, they move to a socially remote room – often the auditorium and wait 15 minutes for their results. Those whose result is negative are then part of the biological bubble of production.
“We test most of the staff and artists at the sites about three times a week because people can be more contagious after 48 hours of coming into contact with the virus.
“Having a healthcare professional present to supervise means that the tests are done correctly and Panbio is the only rapid test that has been approved for use on asymptomatic and symptomatic people of all ages.
“Testing is just one of many control measures used to ensure emissions can take place this year, but it is crucial to help reduce the risk of coming into contact with anyone with Covid- 19, which could stop a show. It is important for all of us to do our part to keep our theaters open. “
